Behind the scenes at our institutions, there are all kinds of individuals who cultivate the art of understanding and caring for our live collections. These avid experts invite you to share their passions in these short videos.
This week we offer a face-to-face with Pierre Lacombe, astronomer, director of the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, and a devoted fan of meteorites. He explains that the 300 specimens at the planetarium make up one of the most important collections in Québec. Discovered all over the planet, these extraterrestrial rocks are a mine of information for astronomers and geologists because they allow for a better understanding of the origins of the Earth and of our solar system.
