Collaborateur info

It was her great love for plants that steered Sylvie Maurice towards plant science studies at McGill University, where she completed a bachelor’s degree in horticulture. In 1998 she joined the Jardin botanique’s division of public natural-sciences programs as part of the horticultural-information team. Her role is to answer questions from the general public: identifying plants, diagnosing problems, finding ecological solutions, and drafting information texts for the interpretive panels and for the Internet site. An active member of Seeds of Diversity Canada, her true passion is to contribute to the preservation of traditional varieties by reproducing some 30 cultivars of rare or endangered garlic.

Sylvie Maurice works in horticultural information at the Jardin botanique de Montréal.
