FAQ - Planetarium

No. March break (March 1 to 24) is a particularly busy time. We recommend that you reserve the date and time for the first show you want to see, and afterward you can remain and see any other shows you like (you may have to wait longer between shows).

Each show plays several times every day. If you want to see a particular show at a specific time, you should arrive 20 to 30 minutes before the show starts.

No, everyone has to leave the theatre between shows so that the technical team can do their work.

Only groups that have reserved for two shows in a row can remain in their seats between shows.

You can see as many shows as you like on the same day.

Your ticket to the planetarium lets you attend as many shows as you like on the same day. It also gives you access to the current exhibitions.

There are some exceptions: March break, $8 Thursday evenings, construction holiday, Christmas, etc.

Starting January 8, one general admission ticket will give you access to all the shows playing that day. You can already buy general admission tickets from our online ticket counter.

Yes, the entire building is wheelchair-accessible. Both theatres have designated areas for wheelchairs.

Yes, it is possible to visit the exhibitions for free during regular opening hours. It includes various interactive kiosks, multimedia games and projections in addition of temporary exhibitions.

The shows are designed for people 7 years of age and older. The Montréal Space for Life does not recommend bringing younger children (0 to 6 years old) as the shows can be very upsetting for a young audience due to the sound level and special effects (“vertigo” effect, storm, etc.).

Please note that, out of respect for the other visitors, anyone who cannot remain quiet during the show will be asked to leave the theatre without refund. 

Your ticket to the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium includes one of our double features, the exhibition Exo: Our Search for Life in the Universe and our temporary exhibitions. Allow about 2 hours to see everything. When you buy your ticket, choose the time of the first show. The shows are recommended for children ages 7 and older.
