Curator's pick

The Harlequin beetle is a nocturnal longhorned beetle with enormous, complex eyes. The back legs of the male beetle are extraordinarily long and can reach 17 cm in length. (The beetle itself is only 7 cm long.) The beautiful patterns on its body have inspired both indigenous tribes and modern designers.
