On March 25 and 26, the Botanical Garden team took part in the international orchid exhibition organized by the Société des Orchidophiles de Montréal.

In addition to exhibiting different specimens of orchid, the event plays an important role in educating the general public. For participants this is an opportunity to make acquisitions by way of purchases or exchanges, to find new sources of supply for rare plants, and to improve the quality of the orchids they raise.

This year our specialized horticulturists were rewarded with a number of prizes for the quality of their work and the varieties presented. The Botanical Garden earned Orchidexpo trophies in the categories Best Plant Species and Best Plant in both the Vanda Alliance and the Dendrobium Alliance. The Cultural Merit award of the American Orchid Society and the trophy for Best Display topped off their honors. Hats off to our team, which stood out among the 100 participants!

By competing at Orchidexpo, the Botanical Garden pursues its objective of improving and diversifying its orchid collection, which is internationally recognized. Come discover fascinating species in full bloom along with other equally impressive collections on display in our greenhouses.
