Created in 1991, the Montréal Chinese Garden Society, a non-profit organization, celebrated its twentieth anniversary in 2011. Throughout this period, the Society made available a variety of services to its members and friends in addition to actively supporting the activities of the Chinese Garden.

The promotional brochure provides more details of our mission as well as our great activities, and will hopefully encourage you to join our membership. It is simply a matter of completing the form contained in the brochure and sending it back to us by mail.

Thanks to the active support of the Society, a number of interactive workshops have been created at the Chinese Garden. The objective is to bring to life various aspects of Chinese culture and engage visitors in such activities as calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting and tea ritual. In addition, visitors enjoy Chinese musical performances and witness Chinese artisans at work. Noteworthy also is the spectacular Gardens of Light event in September and October.

Starting in May, the Montréal Chinese Garden Society sets up a cart in the Chinese Garden, where you can buy tea, soy drinks and chinese pastries.

Society members enjoy free admission to the Montréal Botanical Garden including the greenhouses and the world famous Montréal Insectarium as well as other privileges. The Biodôme and Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium also offer free access during the month of November.
