I live in Portsmouth, NH and have raised and admired monarchs off and on for 60 years. This past weekend, to my dismay, two woodchucks feasted on the tops of a dozen young milkweed plants in my yard. I hope they grow back. I live along the seacoast, so monarch migration travels along the beach corridor to get to Mexico. Years ago there were thousands and hour. Now maybe 100 an hour on a good day.
The monarchs love the red dahlias and the butterfly bushes in my yard. I hope they survive forever with your help and legislation to protect them.
