Enjoy March break at Espace pour la vie

March break can be a real headache to organize. But not at Espace pour la vie! Every year our teams go to great lengths to offer a wealth of fascinating discoveries for the whole family and make your life simpler. With its five museums devoted to the natural sciences, Espace pour la vie is the perfect March break destination.

New things to discover

The Biodôme is welcoming an emperor tamarin couple at the heart of its Tropical Rainforest, and at the same time the Insectarium is presenting partly confined scorpions in the Great Vivarium, not to mention its dozens of butterflies flying free!

Our March break must-dos

At the Biodôme, take part in the activity Bio-indices: Improving Biodiversity through Research and be a nature detective for a while. Plunge into an educational adventure at the heart of the Biodôme’s ecosystems!

At A special encounter, get to meet an insect or another unique arthropod in the company of an Insectarium guide.

Set off on a mission along the Jardin botanique trails, Looking for the red hazelnut that belongs to Elio, a slightly absentminded squirrel. Using the mobile app (and tips from the caretaker!), help him locate it while discovering all the life that lurks beneath the bark of trees. (In French only.)

At the Planétarium, the program is featuring films for the whole family that will have you experience One Day on Mars and take you Aboard the SSE-4801 and Beyond the Sun. You can also learn more about Hubert Reeves by way of a tribute-exhibition that presents artefacts from his personal life along with some of his writings. Also, let yourself be whisked away to the planet Mars in ROUGE 2100 - A Martian Adventure that combines a scientific perspective with an imaginary vision of a not-too-distant world!

Discover the Biosphère’s waterway themed exhibitions: Watersheds! Follow the Flow offers an immersive experience where nature and its variety of aquatic ecosystems captivate the senses; In the Eye of the Beluga by Gaspesian artist Maryse Goudreau invites youngsters to explore the world of this endangered marine mammal; and Cosmic Plankton, with Les Macronautes, plunges you into the infinitely small and the infinitely large with an immersive audiovisual installation.

Tips for a successful visit

Before leaving, make a point of downloading the Espace pour la vie app. Whether you’re visiting the Insectarium or the Biodôme, it will help you discover amazing additional content as well as identify the different species.

The app can be downloaded free of charge on Apple Store and Play Store.

If you don’t own a mobile device, an iPod can be borrowed for free (limited quantities) at the Biodôme, and the Insectarium is fitted with touch screens along the route.

The use of a baby carrier or umbrella stroller is recommended to make getting around easier in our museums, especially at the Biodôme and the Insectarium.

Where to eat? The Biodôme and Planétarium restaurants offer a complete vegetarian menu with hot and cold options.

Please note, the restaurant at the Jardin botanique is closed during the winter period.
