Frédéric Pitre wants to understand how plants work. He holds a PhD in Cotutelle (Joint Thesis Supervision) from Université Laval and AgroParisTech. Before joining the team at the Montreal Botanical Garden, he worked as a scientist in France and Great Britain. His research focuses on the use of plants to resolve environmental issues, that is, phytotechnologies.

Eszter Sas joined the student-researcher group at the Institut de recherche en biologie végétale in early 2018. Coming with chemical engineering knowledge acquired at the ENSIC in France and at the École Polytechnique in Montreal, she extends her know-how to the world of plant biology and works on the chemical molecules of interest that are found in willows.

Frédéric Pitre is a botanist-researcher and an Adjunct professor at the Institut de recherche en biologie végétale, where Eszter Sas is a PhD student-researcher.
