Face-to-face with a horticulturist: Isabelle Chaput

Behind the scenes at our institutions, there are all kinds of individuals who cultivate the art of understanding and caring for our live collections. These avid experts invite you to share their passions in these short videos.

Teaching young people to grow their organic vegetables

This week we offer a face-to-face with Isabelle Chaput, a specialized horticulturist at the Jardin botanique de Montréal’s Youth Gardens. Year after year and with unfailing passion, Isabelle guides youngsters from 8 to 15 in the preparation and maintenance of their little piece of nature. Preparing seedlings, making compost, hunting down harmful insects, weeding a patch of ground, watching vegetables grow and finally tasting them – all the steps involved in learning about the richness of nature.
