Face-to-face with a research student: Alexandre Bergeron

Behind the scenes at our institutions, there are all kinds of individuals who cultivate the art of understanding and caring for our live collections. These avid experts invite you to share their passions in these short videos.

Explorer of our urban woods

This week we offer a face-to-face with Alexandre Bergeron, research student at the Université de Montréal’s Institut de recherche en biologie végétale (IRBV). Alexandre guides you to one of the 82 urban wooded spaces in the Montreal area that he’s had the opportunity to study in the framework of his doctorate. Over the last three years he’s collected close to a thousand specimens and identified between 650 and 700 plant species that characterize Montreal’s woods. The portrait he’s painted may help us understand how the woods will evolve in the years ahead.
