Ingrid Hall has been an assistant professor at Université de Montréal since 2013. An ethnologist, she specializes in environmental anthropology and teaches an undergraduate-level course on that subject. The Peruvian Andes are her favorite area of study, and her current research is concerned with the conservation of potato biodiversity. In that context she focuses on representations of biodiversity, on conservation practices and on the role of the different key players: farmers, but also non-profit organizations (NGOs) and international institutions.
