Retired from teaching, Monique Durand is a regular at the Jardin botanique de Montréal. She was introduced to nature at the age of four through the toddler activity “École de l’éveil” offered by Marcelle Gauvreau. After that she explored horticulture by way of “Jardinets d’écoliers,” those little plots of land created at the initiative of Brother Marie-Victorin and tended by 200 young Montrealers.

A member of the Friends of the Botanical Garden for many years, Monique Durand takes advantage of each of her visits to the Garden to soak up nature, and delights in discovering the transformations imprinted by the seasons.

Monique Durand is an active member of the Friends of the Botanical Garden.
