Tropical cockroache

Like most other cockroaches, these ones are wild and do not live in association with humans. They play an important ecological role in the forest by recycling organic material and thereby supplying plants with nutrients. In Costa Rica, a wasp from the Sphécidae family flies up into the treetops specifically to find these cockroaches, to feed its larvae. Little is known about the Chorisoneura genus. It includes many different species that have not yet been described.
