Beach wormwood, Steller's wormwood

This 50 cm tall plant forms greenish white or greyish clumps or masses. This colouring is caused by the thick coat of white hairs covering the stems, leaves and groups of flowers. The stems are often prostrate at the base. They spread out in all directions before standing upright and ending in a rosette of leaves or a ramified inflorescence. Its alternate leaves are divided into 5 to 7 rounded segments. The yellow flowers are tiny and tubular. They turn brown when they dry. They are grouped in flower heads that form a narrow inflorescence at the tip of the stem.
