Ground hemlock

Although First Nations extracted medicinal substances from ground hemlock, it is a dangerous plant to use because of the taxine contained in the needles. The fleshy part of the fruit does not appear to contain any taxine, but it should not be eaten. Despite the fact that its wood is very compact and flexible, it would be difficult to market it commercially given its small size.
