Information sheet on the plant and its parts.

Objective

Bring children to:

  • recognize the main parts of a garden plant;
  • learn some basic scientific vocabulary.

Equipment needed by the student

  • Pencil crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • One photocopy per student of the “Preparatory Activity” and “The Plant and Its Parts” sheets

Achievement

  • Have the children look at some live plants and help them name the following parts (if applicable): leaves, roots, stems, flowers, fruit, seeds.
  • Hand out the two photocopies indicated in the list of materials.
  • Have each student do the “Preparatory Activity.”
