The Montréal Insectarium is a museum devoted to teaching visitors from Québec, the rest of Canada and around the globe about the world of insects.
Its objectives:
- to introduce visitors to the world of insects by illustrating the diversity, biology and role of these little-known animals, through a dynamic museological approach
- to make visitors aware of the importance of protecting and conserving this natural heritage
- to encourage visitors to see insects in a positive light, and to better understand how they contribute to maintaining our planet ecological equilibrium
- to encourage visitors, if necessary, to change the way they treat insects and view them with greater respect.
Its means:
- museological approach in pleasant surroundings
- travelling exhibitions that travel to outlying areas
- a variety of educational activities for school children
- a partner organization, the Friends of the Montréal Insectarium.
