Growing conditions

Norway maple adapts well to urban conditions and has no special soil requirements.

Use

Norway maple is planted because of its shape and the shade it produces. It has long been popular as a street tree. But once it reaches maturity, its dense shade considerably restricts the choice of plants that will grow at the base of the tree.
