Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan
Marc Jobin earned a Master's degree in Astrophysics from the Université de Montréal and joined the Montréal Planétarium in January 1992. His work has led him to explore various aspects of the dissemination of astronomy to the general public, whether through the creation of multimedia shows and exhibitions or the production of content on web platforms.
In addition to the development of the Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan's Research and Collections division, he is involved in the DOMe (FRIPON) project as well as in the Planétarium's meteorite collection; he is also collaborating on files relating to the control of light pollution in Montréal.
An amateur astrophysicist at heart, a founding member of the Montréal Planétarium Astronomical Society, he is interested in the observation of various astronomical phenomena. His passion for solar eclipses and traveling has led him to the field time and time again to verify if calculations were accurate.
