- Jardin botanique
On October 27, the Jardin botanique de Montréal won first prize in the All-America Selections (AAS) Landscape Design Contest, in the “Over 100,000 visitors” category. The jury was impressed by the fantastic interpretation of the contest’s “geometry” theme, represented by a triangular flower bed separated diagonally with a wide grass path, in the Garden of Innovations. The vegetable beds in the Garden of Useful Plants were also praised for their stunning combination of colours and textures.
The prestigious AAS contest has been rewarding excellence in horticulture every year since 2012, and saluting the most innovative displays in North America. The contest participants present AAS award-winning plant varieties, tested by experts and considered the best on the market.
After winning an Honourable Mention in the 2014 AAS contest, this year the Jardin botanique took top place in its category, as one of the North American display gardens for these innovations, and for the tremendous quality of its displays. We’re all very proud of this achievement!
