Lots of Ways to Enjoy March Break – Naturally!

Montréal Space for Life invites you to an experience combining science, art and emotion
Montréal, January 24, 2017 -

Does it feel like winter will never end? Wouldn’t you just love to reconnect with nature? Montréal Space for Life invites visitors of all ages to come enjoy a delightful March Break in a stress-free setting in harmony with the butterflies, reptiles, amphibians, birds and stars.

At the Botanical Garden
February 23 to April 30, 2017
BUTTERFLIES GO FREE – NATURE’S BALM

As soon as they step into the Main Exhibition Greenhouse, where temperatures fluctuate between 24 and 29°C, visitors will feel like they’re on a tropical vacation. For good reason! All around them, more than 1,500 butterflies of about fifty different species flit about, browsing from one flower to the next. The warmth, lush greenery and graceful ballet invite everyone to breathe deeply and relax. The Insectarium team, which mounted the exhibition and reproduced the butterflies’ natural environment, will be on hand to answer visitors’ many questions and spark youngsters’ curiosity. The natural balm of this immersive experience is bound to banish all thoughts of winter!

At the Biodôme
March 4 to May 22, 2017
SPRINGTIME AWAKENING

The reptiles, amphibians and birds at the Biodôme may be spared our harsh Quebec winters, but they’re just as eager as we are for spring to arrive. Visitors can take their time and admire the western chorus frogs, toads, wood turtles and lots of other species featured in this exhibition. And there’s more! If they’re here from March 4 to 19, they can try their hand at our I Spy Challenge, and attempt to spot the some 250 animal species living in the five ecosystems of the Americas at the Biodôme.

At the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium
February 10 to April 17, 2017
MIRA, THE LITTLE STAR

Can Mira, the little star, escape the nasty Algol, who’s trying to catch her lovely sparkling light? That’s what kids will love finding out as they watch this new immersive musical theatre show designed specially for ages 4 to 8. Older visitors (ages 7+) are bound to be fascinated by the double feature We Are Stars and One Day… on Mars, taking them off in search of the secrets of the Universe and the Red Planet.
