Beaconsfield Biodiverse Front Garden

Jardin pour la biodiversité

The front garden transformation from mostly lawn to mostly native species plants began several years ago, following the removal of an infested ash tree. During the pandemic, the installation of native species picked up speed. Plants include rudbeckia, echinacea, aquilegia, panicum grass, liatris, asclepias, and several types of asters. The rewards have been great. Since spring, the garden has hummed with pollinators, and is regularly visited by birds and monarch butterflies.
