An innovative and immersive experience of astronomy

A true pioneer in the field, the Planétarium redefines the very essence of planetariums through its original and innovative approach to astronomy.

For over 45 years the Montréal Planetarium has shared its passion for the sky and stars with visitors young and old. Today, the Planétarium, located close to the Biodôme, continues to pursue this objective by offering a completely fresh experience of astronomy.

With its bold design, the Planétarium incorporates the strictest sustainable development criteria. It uses cutting-edge technology to create a unique experience of the universe through its immersive theatres, where shows both poetic and scientific are presented. Its exhibitions enrich this cosmic journey.

The Planétarium’s mission, like that of the other Montréal Space for Life museums, is to bring people closer to nature. Made up of five major attractions – the Biodôme, the Biosphère, the Insectarium, the Jardin botanique and the Planétarium – Space for Life forms Canada’s largest natural science museum complex.

Get ready for an unforgettable experience!

The Planétarium project was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Olympic Park and the financial participation of the City of Montréal, the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie, the Secrétariat à la Région Métropolitaine, the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications, Canada Economic Development and Rio Tinto Alcan.
