A nutritionist by training, Marie-Hélène continued her academic studies with the aim of digging deeper into the questions of nutrition in public health, food justice, urban agriculture and organic farming. She worked with local food systems for a number of years. Her last employment involved her overseeing the transfer of Équiterre’s Family Farmers Network to the Coopérative pour l’agriculture de proximité écologique (CAPÉ), where she continued its development. Having worked on different scales, she’s developed a holistic vision of food systems, their players and their issues that enables her to successfully share the knowledge deriving from the Transition Pathways food challenge.
