Since 1999, the Henry Teuscher Award has been given to a person whose work has contributed in a meaningful way to the advancement of horticulture in Québec. As part of its annual Great Gardening Weekend, the Jardin botanique of Montréal is proud to highlight individual excellence in the horticultural world.
Of German origin, the botanist Henry Teuscher worked with Brother Marie-Victorin in the development of the Jardin botanique. Appointed chief horticulturist of the Garden in 1936, he worked on its development until 1962.
