The diversity of tree and shrub species at the Jardin botanique makes it an ideal place for birdwatching all year long. Thanks to bird feeding stations that have been set up for the winter, visitors can observe lively bird activity even during the colder months.

The Jardin botanique provides avian fauna with abundant sources of food, shelters that offer much-needed protection, and ideal nesting sites. The eBird Québec lists all the bird species have been sighted at the Jardin botanique.

Winter bird feeders

Though many bird species migrate, some stay in Quebec year long. Winter brings colder temperatures and fewer natural food sources, just as birds need more energy to survive. Our feeders become true food oases during the colder months.

Our eight bird feeding stations have been designed to meet the dietary needs of several bird species and include various food sources, such as sunflower seeds, suet, peanuts, and safflower seeds.
