About my work
An enthusiastic naturalist, Michel Saint-Germain has studied entomology at the Université du Québec à Montréal (master's degree in biology) and at McGill University (doctorate in entomology). During his academic career in research, he studied the impact of natural and anthropogenic disturbances on the diversity of insects associated with dead wood in the boreal forest. He has worked for several years as a consultant to various government agencies on issues related to conservation and species at risk. Since 2018, he is entomologist at the Insectarium. In December 2019, he was appointed Division Head, Entomological Collections and Research of the Montreal Insectarium.
