Sous les Pommiers des Laurentides

We are a couple who make our home in the beautiful Laurentians for the last quarter century.
We have always grown a fairly extensive perennial garden. However, since our retirement four years ago, this simple garden has been transformed into a veritable Space for Life Garden.
In our definition, Life does not merely represent the flora surrounding us and the fauna that traverse or refuge in our garden, but also include the humans that partake in the beauty and bounty of our yard.
Our original goal was to minimize the area of mow-able lawn and to create a green space, a haven against the islands of heat that encircle us.

Today the perennial garden encompasses half the property, highlighted by a long stream and pond, wich attract many species of birds, pollinators, butterflies, dragonflies and amphibians. The other half of our property is dedicated to an organic vegetable garden, where we work hard to be self-sufficient all summer long. We hope that with our "green conscience", we will have made a contribution in maintaining the ecologic equilibrium of our neighbourhood, not to mention the pleasure of surrounding ourselves daily with nature's charm and harmony.
