Oasis pour les monarques

Témoignage

This is our 7th year since we created a garden to attract/save/protect bees and butterflies.

This year when we were home, we counted 30 days that we saw a monarch or more in our garden giving us a total of 57 monarchs, two days we had two at a time, four days had three at a time, three times we had four at a time, two times we had five at a time and the other 19 days we saw only one. Two monarchs were spotted in July, twenty-two in August and thirty-three in September. There were less honeybees this year but a lot of bumblebees and cabbage whites. Ten days we noticed that a red admiral was in our garden. We also noticed a few clear wing sphinx moths, two hummingbirds, different kinds of clouded sulphur, a couple of painted ladies and only one swallowtail besides the other kind of insects/birds that visit our garden. For about five days this summer we had the pleasure to a couple of peacock butterflies, and a beautiful white admiral butterfly was spotted in my garden on August 21st as seen in pics.
