Oasis pour les monarques
Témoignage
This is our 9th year since we created a garden to attract/save/protect bees and butterflies.
This year when we were home, we counted 37 days that we saw a monarch or more in our garden giving us a total of 61 monarchs. 4 days we had 3 at a time, 8 days we had 2 at a time, 2 days we had 4 at a time and the other 25 days we only saw 1. 2 monarchs were spotted in June, 4 monarchs were spotted in July, 29 in August and 26 in September.
This year when we were home, we also counted 38 days that we saw a Red Admiral or more in our garden besides there being a lot of painted ladies/American ladies and milbert tortoishell butterflies showing up often. 17 days we saw different kinds of Swallowtails (1 in June, 4 in July, 11 in August and 1 in September), 3 days we saw white admirals (6-7-8 July) and sometimes different kinds of sulphur butterflies besides the other kind of insects/birds that visit our garden. For about 14 days we also observed a hummingbird moth and we also observed a snowberry clearwing in my garden. We saw 2 hummingbird's on the (20th and 27tth of August).
There were more honeybees this year but lots of bumblebees and cabbage whites.
