Jardin pour la biodiversité
Témoignage
A group of students at John Abbott College applied for a World Wildlife Fund grant. Their application was accepted and they designed, planned and planted a pollinator garden with the project name "Bee the Future". The garden features plants indigenous to Quebec including:
Panicum Vergatum Prairie Fire - Switchgrass
Agastache foeniculum - Agastache Gaint Blue Hyssop
Eupatorium Maculatum - Spotted Joe Pye weed
Monarda Fire Ball
Solidago canadensis - Goldenrod
Amelanchier robin hill
Crataegus toba (hawthorn toba)
The garden was planted in June and is already attracting bees and butterflies.
The plan is for this garden to serve as a basis for student volunteering, engagement and future workshops.
