We live in the middle of perhaps the busiest traffic in the city on the island at the corners of Guy, Dr Penfield and Côte des Neiges. We would guess at least 50,000 vehicles pass daily on either side of our property at 3778 Côte des Neiges. We we moved in about 35 years ago the back yard was a mess of weeds and bushes but we realized that the south facing full sun space would be good for a garden so we slowly transformed it. Recently we have had the assistance of Urban Seedling. The pathway between the boxes are paved with the pink granite blocks that used to surface the roads in the area in the days of the street cars. They were rescued when the road was dug up for various purposes. We have planted a wide variety of edible plants in three cycles, spring, summer and fall. We also have fruit trees which this year will yield plums and peaches.
